Crabbel.de is a show and entertainment directory which was developed and put into practice by professional programmers and designers in just ten months. Many years of experience in this branch enabled us to create a platform from which both its visitors as well as advertisers greatly benefit.

Crabbel Media GmbH was established specifically for this project, because in the past two years more and more organizers and clients have begun to seek direct contact with one another in the entertainment branch. Thus in the course of the restructuring of the agency Now, which has been active in show business since 1999, Crabbel Media GmbH was founded. The company recognized the possibilities of the Internet at an early point in time and has successfully used it as a very efficient marketing venue to gain new clients and present show programs.

The new company started out with a knowledgeable and experienced core staff, which has gathered extensive experience with the Internet in the past five years. The countless show and entertainment events which they had previously carried out provided the necessary practical expertise for the development of the company. These components offered ideal conditions for setting up this Internet portal. The creative minds and know-how of the experienced specialists in our office are also a guarantee for successful innovations in this area in the future.

Success on the Internet cannot be taken for granted and we are certainly aware of that. No other means of communication is evolving at such a breathtaking speed as the World Wide Web. Our foremost goal thus remains to offer our users and advertisers maximum benefits by continually improving our service so that they can establish new and successful business contacts in a quick and efficient manner.

The main headquarters of Crabbel Media GmbH is located in the wonderful Swabian Alb region in the middle of the city of Laichingen, which lies along the Autobahn 8 (Freeway) between Munich and Stuttgart. This is an ideal location, which offers an excellent infrastructure with convenient transportation connections.

Getting started is always the hardest part, especially when you’re searching for an original mascot. That was also our experience and, when looking back, none of us had any idea how difficult and time-consuming this task would be when we began our work in February 2004. First, we had to find a name which did not infringe upon the rights of another company, which sounded good and also could ultimately be marketed well.

Two tedious and frustrating weeks passed by, until we finally came up with crabbel.de. Then the second challenge began – we had to find a mascot. It had to go well with the name, look as cheerful and funny as possible, and most importantly, it had to be unmistakeable. These were the strict guidelines for our new portal, in which we would invest a lot of time and money. After one more week, we had come up with the figure and its distinctive traits. Our mascot was finally coming into its own. It was suitable for the theme and the show business branch which, after all, is all about fun and being happy.

It was really our graphic artist, a master of illustrations, who breathed life into him. Time and time again, he amazed us with his love of detail and the realistic portrayals in the drawings. Through further countless hours of work, e-mails, telephone calls, and discussions, our “crabbelish” mascot came about step-by-step. And it is now this very mascot which functions as a visual eye-catcher in all printed material and web pages, showing us the way with his diverse poses.

We hope that our mascot will make surfing in the data jungle between bits and clicks more pleasant and put a smile on your face with his charisma and cheerfulness.
