Kontorsionistik

Kontorsion (Begriff aus der Medizin): lateinisch = Verdrehung eines Gliedes oder Gelenkes, die zu einer Zerrung oder Verstauchung führen kann.

Im Varieté oder Zirkus ist die Kontorsionistik die Kunst des extremen Verbiegens des Körpers.

Man unterscheidet zwischen Klischnigg (Verbiegen des Körpers nach vorne) und Kautschuk (Verbiegen des Körpers nach hinten).

Meist wird diese Kunst von Frauen ausgeübt. Nur wenige Männer entschließen sich zu einer Artistenlaufbahn als "Schlangenmensch".
